OnRamp was a hot new startup that needed to show potential clients what it could do, and also show them the humor and attitude the company was quickly getting a reputation for. This explainer was designed to introduce the brand quickly but compellingly.
Halyard Health requested a visual introduction for a book that was to be given out to the organization’s entire sales staff. I quickly familiarized myself with the book, summarized its main points concisely, came up with lighthearted examples for each profile, and animated the project using the company’s visual brand guidelines.
To introduce a message from the CEO, Shell Oil wanted a text animation about great leadership. They asked me to create something playful and energetic, but adhering to their strict brand guidelines.

Kaplan Test Prep wanted to gain an edge on the competition with The GMAT Channel, nightly live online instruction that any enrolled student could join at any time. They asked me to write and produce a video highlighting this unique value proposition. This was so successful as a marketing tool that I eventually produced other versions for the MCAT and LSAT Channels.
For its annual employee retreat, Halyard Health had selected “Climb” as the theme. I combined cinematic stock footage of mountain climbers with text highlighting the company’s achievements and goals. Motion tracking was used to incorporate the text into the shots, sometimes having the climbers move in front of the words. This video was meant to be a tone-setting introduction to the keynote address.
As an automotive insurance company, Solera is full of car lovers. Putting a red sports car front and center certainly got their attention, especially when their new logo became a test track in the final shot.
When Kaplan reorganized in mid-2020, the former Admissions Content Team was split up. In order to both celebrate what the team had accomplished and bid it a bittersweet farewell, Kaplan asked me to bring the team’s mascot (formerly just a still image) to life. In this short cartoon we see that Octavius the Octopus is moving on to bigger and better things.
